Heela is a Partner in our Tax group where she advises clients on all aspects of taxation and estates law, with a focus on Canada-US cross-border issues. She is known for her ability to craft solutions that ensure efficiency and compliance on both sides of the border.

Prior to joining Robins Appleby LLP, Heela worked as an associate in the charities and wealth management group in the Toronto office of a national firm. She then spent five years at a boutique law firm, where she focused on the complex and unique interactions between the Canadian and US tax systems, including specialized estate planning for Canadians with US property and Americans living in Canada. Heela holds a J.D. from the University of Western Ontario School of Law, and has completed levels I, II, and III ​of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA) In-Depth Tax Course certification.
